PONG is an adventurous documentary-style film by Nepali directors Shambhu Rayamajhi and Pradip Kumal that features the mysterious Chepang people of Nepal. Inhabiting the mountainous forest regions, the Chepang have little contact with modern civilization. PONG follows an action-packed story that portrays the extreme difficulty of Chepang life tempered with the joys of being part of a close community. The Nepali filmmakers gained extraordinary access to the Chepang and were able to document rare glimpses of the traditions and rituals of this remote culture. Don’t miss this opportunity to preview this very special film that was brought to Somerville by the Nepali community and SCATV.

The film screening will be at the Nave Gallery, 155 Powderhouse Blvd. in Somerville on thursday, November 1 at 7:00pm. The cost is $5, and advance tickets are available at SCATV,  90 Union Sq, Somerville.
