But while we share Desrochers’ outlook about what is most important here, we still have questions about what led to this dust-up in the first place. Parents have accused the city of favoritism and their suspicions do not seem unfounded.

The city really needs to create more green space for all the good, healthy activities it’s doing so well at promoting!

Agree– no debate there! One great way to do this would be for Somerville citizens to vote Yes on Question #4 on the ballot this Nov.! Passage of the Community Preservation Act (CPA) this Nov. will dedicate more funds toward both creating new open space and improving our existing facilities. CPA will not only generate more local revenues for open space (as well as for affordable housing and historic landmarks), but also allow us to tap into State funds that are currently going to too many other communities in Mass. with even less need.
