The Center for Arts at the Armory is in trouble. Big trouble. According to a request filed with the city’s zoning board, significant changes to its hours and occupancy are “necessary for the survival of Arts at the Armory in the auditorium, and for the café, as well as for the entire premises itself.” We think the changes make sense for the Armory and think the Zoning Board should grant them. But we’re also concerned about whether the Armory’s management is capable of effectively running a larger operation.

I support the expanded licenses. If the Management needs to increase its capabilities, then there are many experienced residents in Somerville that can help out.
