Join Somerville Climate Action to DEPAVE the WAY!
We will be removing asphalt from yards — allowing the soil to return to health and productivity. Somerville is over 75% paved over, contributing to storm-water runoff and flooding. We can help reverse this – creating a safer and healthier city!
* Saturday June 2 from 1:00 to 4:00 home near Davis Square Cancelled due to weather.
* Saturday June 16 from noon to 3:00 home near Union Square (rain date June 17th)
Hardhats will be provided!
Check out the time-lapse video of a previous de-paving event:

Join the party by signing up for one or more roles:
* Hands-on work:
- Use a sledgehammer and pick axe to pry up the asphalt
- Haul chunks of asphalt in a wheelbarrow to the dumpster
* Bring tasty food
* Supply energizing music
* Help organize an event (There are now 5 events being scheduled)
* Organize publicity
* Organize clean-up
Please RSVP to Lenni to get the address, and so we know how many volunteers are coming:
