Some Massachusetts DCR Ice Skating rinks offer independently-usable and accessible ice skating sleds. These are available during the public skating hours posted for each rink.
(Online link is at http://www.mass.gov/dcr/recreate/skating.htm )
The sleds have a set of hockey sticks that allow users to propel themselves. There are also stroller bars (at least one) at the rinks so that folks can push each other also. Some sleds have more support, such as a taller back and/or a chest strap for additional stabilization.
The advice is: Call in advance to ensure availability and get more information:

I’m for Everybody having more fun! By the way, this morning I saw a short piece on a Senior Park in London with equipment designed for older exercisers. The bike path needs a set of those or two!
