We got only two entries by yesterday’s deadline for our “This Happened In Somerville” high school contest, but they are both excellent! There’s one on the spectacular rise of girls’ soccer and one on the state of the SHS auditorium.

The winner will be chosen by the editors’ evaluation of the quality of the post AND the comments offered by readers.  “Thumbs up” votes will also be taken into account.  (Thumbs down will not count.)

We’re allowing two weeks for this online discussion of the entries, so we’ll pick the winner May 22.

The winner gets $100 and all the fame that comes with winning our first high school contest! Hollywood is sure to call.

When is the winner being announced? It’s passed the 22nd and I don’t see anything.
