For the past year and more, with your support, CAAS has been helping Somerville ride out the Great Recession. Now, it’s time to celebrate! At CAAS’ annual meeting (Thursday evening, October 28), you can meet other friends of CAAS, eat, drink, and be merry. Hear brief reports about the past year’s work, and meet the new Board members and officers.
And, as a special treat… Comedian Jimmy Tingle will entertain!
Jimmy Tingle (www.jimmytingle.com) is a stand up comedian from Cambridge, MA who has appeared on the Tonight Show, Conan O’Brien, Larry King, HBO, NPR, PBS, and Comedy Central. He has worked as a commentator for MSNBC and spent two seasons as the humorist and commentator in the “Andy Rooney” spot for 60 Minutes II and CBS. He also ran his own theater in Somerville’s Davis Square. This is a great chance to hear Jimmy Tingle for free.
RSVP: 617-623-7370 x 153.
The mission of the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) is to reduce poverty among local families and individuals while working to counteract, and whenever possible eliminate, the societal conditions that cause and perpetuate poverty. For more information, see www.caasomerville.org.

Ron, I’m sorry, I thought I marked that when I created this notice. It’s at the Somerville City Club, 20 Innerbelt Road (across from the Holiday Inn), and as noted above, schmoozing and noshing begin around 6:00. The program will start around 7:00.
