An Open Invitation to All:
Do you care about the public schools of Somerville? Do you want to support quality, innovative programs in our schools? Would you like to eat a tasty dinner prepared by your favorite local politician?
The Duhamel Education Initiative (DEI), a local foundation that supports innovative classroom initiatives in the Somerville Public Schools, cordially invites you to attend its 15th Annual Fall Fundraiser, a delicious community dinner prepared and served by the Somerville Board of Aldermen!
The dinner will take place on Saturday, September 25th, beginning at 6pm, at the First Congregational Church at 89 College Avenue, just up the street from Davis Square. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $25 per family. Tickets are available at the door and donations beyond the ticket price are greatly appreciated. All profits go to support the DEI’s many programs that support the Somerville Public Schools.
What is the DEI?
Paul Duhamel, a Somerville School Committee member, was a positive force in the community and an excellent leader in support of our schools. He passed away too soon. The DEI works to further his efforts by supporting the Somerville Public Schools. The Initiative has awarded over $50,000 in grants to Somerville teachers and also supports after-school and summer programs to support at-risk youth. Please help us better serve the children of our community! For more information, please email Duhamel.firstname.lastname@example.org, or contact Doris (617-623-3168).
The Duhamel Education Initiative meets the third Thursday of every month and hosts several annual fund-raisers. We welcome your interest and are actively looking for new members. This is a great way to support the Somerville Public Schools, meet your neighbors, and get involved with making our City a great place for all. We look forward to hearing from you!
