Ocean State Job Lot Introductory Meeting II

Tues. Aug. 17 7:00 PM

Elizabeth Peabody House
277 Broadway
Somerville MA (map)

This meeting was called by Ocean State Job Lot to reintroduce themselves as a potential tenant at 299 Broadway, the former Star Market site. The previous meeting did not elicit public support. Per Attorney Bob Allen, this meeting has not been rescheduled and is still Tues. Aug 17.

This meeting is worth attending because this use is inconsistent with the new Winter Hill zoning, could tie up the site for a long time, and could affect local property values.

Community members may submit written comments on the proposal to George Proakis at gproakis@somervillema.gov until August 19th.  For more information, see:

I am not sure how this message got posted but the information is incorrect. The Public Meeting is still scheduled for August 17th at 7:00 at the Elizabeth Peabody House. The Planning Board will hear this matter on August 24th.

  3. I have restored the original date and time. I am trying to find out whether the meeting I thought was happening on August 19 is still happening or whether it has been rescheduled to the August 24 Planning Board meeting.
