July 7th: Public Forum To Be Held In Police Chief Selection Process.

The public is invited to this hearing as part of the selection process for the next Chief of Police in Somerville. Community members are also invited to submit questions and comments in advance of the hearing by e-mailing chiefsearch@somervillema.gov. Attendees at the hearing will also have an opportunity to submit questions.

The finalists are…
Acting Somerville Police Chief Michael Cabral; Fitchburg Police Chief Robert DeMoura; Haverhill Police Chief Alan DeNaro; Special Agent in Charge/Area Police Director of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration, Thomas Pasquarello; Idaho Falls, Idaho, Police Chief Steve Roos; and Lowell Police Captain William Taylor.

Per City ordinance, three to five candidates will be recommended to Mayor Curtatone for participation in a public Q&A session.

Time: 6pm
Place: Aldermanic Chambers
Address: 93 Highland Avenue

The meeting will be televised on the City’s Cable Channel (13/15), and will be periodically re-broadcast throughout the week for residents wishing to submit feedback up to seven days following the hearing.

Spanish, Portuguese and Haitian-Creole translators will be available at the meeting, as well as an ASL interpreter.
