I need intense help figuring out which oil heating company to pick. Some give discounts and then free service and insurance. Some give no discounts but come up with a good price, but I’m not sure if that price is competitive.

I got my company through membership with the Mass Energy Consumer’s Alliance. They assigned me a company. I’ve never had a problem with the company, but I also don’t have much of a sense of whether their price is really any lower than what I can get out on the market. Having said that, I feel that if I ever have a problem with the company I have some leverage, in that MECA could stop referring people to them.
