This is the first in the MetroFuture Speaker Series sponsored by the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). Dr. Aseem Inam, Urban Designer and Planner at the Tufts University Department of Urban and Environmental Planning will discuss how cities can plan to cope with events such as earthquakes and hurricanes. He will focus on the planning agencies in Los Angeles and Mexico City.

This meeting is important because disaster preparedness is the single most important role of government, and sometimes government could do it better.
