Somerville Community Access Television, in collaboration with the TV program “Greater Somerville with Joe Lynch,” will present four half-hour forums for each contested race for Alderman and School Committee. The four programs are 1) the race for Alderman-At-Large, 2) for Ward Six Alderman, 3) for Ward Four School Committee, and 4) for Ward Five School Committee. Each forum will be moderated by “Greater Somerville” host Joe Lynch, who will question each candidate and provide equal time for answers.

This is an excellent opportunity for Somerville residents to compare the candidates’ perspectives before the election on November 3. The two-hour package of programs will be cablecast on SCAT Channel 3 every day between October 26 and October 31, with cablecast times from 6:00am to 8:00am, midnight to 2:00am, and Thursday evening, October 29 from 7:00 to 9:00pm.  Individual forums will be cablecast at various times throughout the week, and will be posted on Web at http://www.scatstaffvlog.blogspot.com/.

    Bill@SCAT,
Thank you for having these forums!

Any possibility of you posting the video of each here after they are aired? Or, if that’s not logistically possible, putting up direct links to each forum as they become available?

That would be very helpful. I imagine there are at least a couple of people in the city (besides me) who are interested in learning about the new candidates but don’t have cable and aren’t likely remember to check SCAT’s vlog three weeks from now.

      Julia,

Great Idea! I will post all the links here to Somerville Voices as soon as the programs are uploaded to the web.

      Thank you.

  2. Spot on Somerville says:

I hope all the candidates show up. I usually miss them when they come knocking so I would really like to see them side by side answering the same questions.

Will the SCat people take questions before the show to ask the candidates?

      Hi Spot On,

Yourself, or anyone else, may feel free to email questions to us. I will collect them and pass them along to Joe Lynch, the host of the program. Email questions for the candidates to studio@access-scat.org.
