This sounds like a nice opportunity for new candidates especially (but also current elected officials) to introduce themselves and their stands to the community.
Which makes it really sad to see how few of them are participating in an event about how to increase civic participation! If even our officials and candidates can’t be bothered to show up for something like this, it’s little wonder if ordinary citizens don’t have a low level of civic involvement. Respect to these officials and candidates who are taking part in the forum.
