Somerville Voices does hereby (and by other means) invite all candidates for contested races in the upcoming election to explain their positions on the issues and why voters should choose them on November 3.

Watch this site for a chance to read the candidate’s views, and to question and comment back yourself!  Can’t wait for your candidate to post?  Start commenting on this post now!  Here’s the list of contested races and who is running:

School Committee:
Ward 4: James Norton (incumbent) vs. Christine Rafal
Ward 5:  Mark Neidergang (incumbent) vs. Anna E. Lavanga

Board of Aldermen:

one contested ward race:                                                                                                      Ward 6: Rebekah L. Gewirtz (incumbent) vs. James J. Campano

and five candidates for four at-large seats:
John M. (Jack) Connolly (incumbent), Dennis M. Sullivan (incumbent), Bruce Desmond (incumbent), William A. (Bill) White, Jr. (incumbent),  Luis Morales
We hope to hear from everyone!

To the candidates: We would be particularly interested to hear how your candidacy may differ from your opponent’s and why.  Also,  if you are inclined to mention your major reasons for running and/or wishing to continue to serve, please do.
