FossFest 2009 is a free outdoor music event in Somerville’s Foss Park (corner of Broadway and Fellsway W) taking place on Saturday, September 5th from 2-6pm. Bring a blanket and a picnic (no alcohol; there will be food vendors at the event) and listen to five fantastic local bands – The Diamond Mines, Audrey Ryan, Concord Ballet Orchestra Players, The Brooklyns and They Will Hate Us. The event will also feature art and craft vendors and DJ entertainment. FossFest is sponsored in part by the Somerville Arts Council, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation with help from WMBR, 88.1 in Cambridge. Representatives from the Somerville Homeless Coalition will be on hand, and food donations, monetary contributions, and/or volunteered time are always welcome and needed.
