Hi everyone-

I’m going to be presenting my “History of Somerville, 2010-2100” project at Somerville’s Artbeat festival on Saturday, July 18. At noon, I’ll be giving a powerpoint presentation at the Somerville Theatre. After 1:30pm, I’ll be manning a Future Information table outside of the Theatre, where I’ll be handing out free timelines about the future, and talking about the coming 90 years with anyone who stops by.

I hope to see you there!

Tim

Here’s a sample of some of the predictions I’ve collected: http://timdevin.com/somerville-timeline.pdf

Here’s the project’s website: http://timdevin.com/historyofsomerville.html

And here’s an article Julia Fairclough was nice enough to write about it, for the Somerville News:

About this project:

Tim Devin’s “The history of Somerville, 2010-2100” is a community art project exploring what the future of Somerville might be like. As part of the project, Tim has been talking to residents, and documenting their hopes, dreams, and fears about the future of the city. He has also been meeting with politicians and city officials, and researching government plans and think tank vision statements.
