Currently i dont think anyone can say they like school. People think school is too boring because its all work and academics and what not. School can be more interesting if it has something to look forward to and thats what we should make. For one its the teachers that make school what it is, their attitude in particular. If a teacher doesnt like their students than chances are that the students wont like that teacher back. Another thing is the students. There are students that are considered trouble makers and class clowns but they only do that because they are bored and they arent very fond of school. This can be solved if students have more activities and freedom because all school is now is work, work and more work. We have one or 2 elective classes that are fun and we have lunch but thats nothing compared to how regular classes are. Students want more, they want to make themselves a good future but they cant think about the future with so much stuff in the present that gets crammed into their heads so they cant think about the future properly. Another thing is the infamous MCAS. MCAS is what increased the drop out rate in schools because students have work so hard and repeat it if theyre forced to and this isnt right. MCAS didnt come around until the past few years and weve been doing just fine until that time and now it stirs up a comotion among students. There is no point to this exam i mean what are we trying to prove? That were eligible to the state? Come on people wake up and say no to stupid decisions. Just because we have people to make decisions for us doesnt mean we dont have a say in it, after all this is democracy right?

vanredgrave13, you’re adding some really interesting thoughts to this thread!

It seems like you’re saying that mutual respect is a necessity for genuine learning to happen. Am I getting that right?
