Education is great and I believe every person needs it. If I could change the way school is taught then I would. Most academic classes (english, history, math, etc…) are all basically alike and it just feels like every class is repeating. You take notes, you watch the teacher do something on the board, you go home and do homework. Or maybe you read the entire class or watch a movie while half of the class is falling asleep; and this just repeats. Students are falling asleep in class because there is nothing to keep them awake and they just sit in their seat for an hour. If I could change school then I would have more hands-on and interactive work. Instead of a teacher showing students a math problem on the board, have students do problems and show how the students got the problem right and if they got something wrong show what they did wrong and how to fix it. I am not telling how this school should be run, I am just telling how I would change it. I actually like how this school is run, There is so many different classes for every type of subject and so many different electives for people to express themselves in either music, art, gym, and many more. This is great and it gives students a break between all of those boring academic classes.

Great to hear your commentary, Jason! Seems like you are one of those people that takes the good and uses it well.
So your vote for variety sounds logical, and it seems like it’s the active classes that bring out the best in you! I remember lots of classes that were like a drone- dull, monotonous, tedious- and I fell asleep in them! Whereas the creative classes, like art and music- they offer a chance to express ourselves!

You won’t want to believe it, but sometimes you should listen to us old folks who know that, years from now, you will probably look back and say “why didn’t I take better advantage of what they were trying to teach me at SHS?” Force yourself to pay attention. I’m not saying you’ll like it, but you won’t regret it. I promise. Not every bit of teaching is a pearl of wisdom, but when the pearl rolls by, you don’t want to be snoring.

I would also change that. Classes are very boring if you just sit there and listen to the teacher talk. It’s cool how you would want the teachers to make u get up and do activities. Some kids may not want to get p because of laziness but it’s still a pretty creative idea.
