More than 35 student actors, musicians, stage and costume designers, and production engineers are working on the 2009 Somerville High School production of Bye Bye Birdie. Scheduled to launch its three day run on Friday, February 6th, Bye Bye Birdie tells the story of Conrad Birdie and the complications that arise when his agent stages a publicity stunt on The Ed Sullivan Show just before Conrad is drafted into the Army.
The annual high school musical costs nearly $12,000 to produce, and more than 1,00 students, families and other community members attend every year.
Purchasing an ad in the program book provide you, your business or your organization the opportunity to:
- Support the arts in Somerville
- Encourage young adults to express themselves through art and music
- Deliver a message to the nearly 1,000 people who will attend the production over the weekend of February 6-8, 2009.
There are six ad levels to choose from – ranging in price from $10-$250. Please contact Producer Rosemary Sears at rsears(at)somerville.mec.edu or 617-625-6600 x6109 to learn more about purchasing an ad and supporting Somerville youth in the arts.
Additional information about purchasing tickets for Bye Bye Birdie will be available after the start of the new year. The musical will be staged at Somerville High School on
- Friday, February 6th beginning at 7:30 PM
- Saturday, February 7th beginning at 7:30 PM
- Sunday, February 8th beginning at 2:00 PM.
Thank you for buying an ad and/or attending the show. It does make a difference in the lives of Somerville students.
Warmly,
-gk-
