The District is rich in activity throughout the early part of December.  Highlights include:

Parent/Guardian Fair: Thursday, December 4th from 6-8PM 7:00-8:30 PM at the Healey School (5 Meacham Street)
Effective education requires a strong partnerships between schools, community and families. In a community as diverse as Somerville there are many forums through which parents/guardians can organize. At this event, the District invites parent/guardian groups from across the City to come together to learn more about one another and to discuss ways to work together to support all young people in developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in school and life. Families from across the city are invited to attend.

College Financial Aid-How to get your fair share: Monday, December 8th from 7:00 PM-9:00 PM at Somerville High School (81 Highland Avenue)
Even the most connected parents/guardians can be stymied by the college financial aid process. At this parent/guardian workshop the Somerville High School Guidance team will demystify the college financial aid process and provide instruction on how to maximize your student’s financial aid opportunities.

Somerville Public Schools Winter Concerts: Thursday, December 11th and Thursday, December 18th beginning at 7:00 PM at Somerville High School (81 Highland Avenue)
All members of the Somerville community are invited to celebrate winter and winter holidays with elementary musicians and vocalists on Thursday, December 11th, and/or with high school musicians, vocalists and other performers on Thursday, December 18th. Complimentary tickets for both concerts will be available by Tuesday, 12/2 from any student musician or performer, in any school office, and in the Mayor’s Office at Somerville City Hall.
