Tufts Janitors and the Somerville Community Stand United

Who:     Contracted Janitors at Tufts University, Members of the Community, Tufts Students and SEIU 615.

Where: Davis Square, Somerville MA (the intersection of Holland st. and College Ave.)

When: Rally on July 10th at 12:15pm

What:     SEIU 615 will be holding a rally in support of a resolution in favor of the contracted janitors at Tufts being heard by the Somerville Board of Alderman that evening. These workers are currently in Contract
negotiations and are asking for sustainable wages, accessible healthcare and full time work.

The Janitors at Tufts have dedicated themselves to keeping Tufts University a safe and healthy environment. Now they are asking to be treated with the respect and dignity that is extended to all other members of the Tufts community.

Tufts is a university that prides itself on its commitment to the greater Boston community, but it will not provide the money to enable the janitors to provide for their families and create better communities. We are holding this rally to show Tufts that the Somerville community stands behind these workers and to let them know that they should stand up for their values and give the workers the money they need and deserve.
