I would like to invite you to the East Coast Theatrical Premiere of SOUR, which is screening with the upcoming Boston International Film Festival series mid-day on June 14th. Filmed in 2006 during the Second Lebanese War, SOUR presents a new look at the grassroots peace process begun by 9 young skaters from Israel and neighboring Jordan. This film asks the real question: What does an instrument of peace look like? SOUR is the first documentary to unite Arab and Israeli youth for a lighter take on politics in the Middle East.
My name is Sudip Peterson, co-producer at Sour Crew Productions. In 2001, I graduated from Boston University with a degree in psychology. Then immediately abandoned all obvious career paths to focus on turning a one street block in my hometown (Somerville MA) into the indisputable crown jewel of the community. Following up on inexplicable inspiration, I joined the Somerville Arts Council and for four years co-led teams of teen muralists in creating four separate permanent installations for the Mystic River Mural Project, one of the largest and longest mural installations in the entire Boston Metro area.
This letter is an open invitation to join the SOUR CREW in building community awareness for dynamic acts of peace in the Middle East. Please join the filmmakers at the BOSTON INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL on Sat, JUNE 14th at NOON at the Tremont AMC/Loews, 175 Tremont Street. The SOUR CREW Producers will be available after the screening for a short Q+A session.
