It seems that a good deal of energy and money could be saved if these lights were turned off during off-hours. Particularly the one on Spring Hill at Summer St. Lots of these lights blink, even in the Summer. Small and simple, but helpful.

One Response to “Yellow lights near schools.”

I’m all for saving energy and money, unless doing so decreases public safety.

Do these blinking yellow lights help provide warning to drivers about a potentially dangerous intersection that would become more dangerous without the lights?

    How do you define “off-hours”?

How much energy and money do those lights consume per hour?
What would be the total savings under your proposal?
What would be the cost of adjusting the lights in this way?
