Come one, Come all. On April 27 afternoon (1:30pm registration), the 5th Annual Walk to Prevent Homelessness in Somerville will again take off from the Somerville High School.

The proceeds from the walk help those at risk of homelessness to secure housing by providing assistance with security deposits, back rent, or moving costs. Last year’s walk raised over $28,000 and provided over 100 adults and children avoid the devastation of homelessness.

What can you do to help prevent homelessness this month?
1) Walk on April 27
Get your Registration Card from http://www.somervillecdc.org/walk/, sign up sponsors who will pledge their support, and join the walk on the 27th.

2) Sponsor walkers

3) Donate direct
You can donate directly by calling (617) 776-5931 x233.

This walk is organized by AHOC. The Somerville Affordable Housing Organizing Committee (AHOC) was organized by the Somerville Community Corporation in 2001. I was pleased to be able to participate in the walk and thank those who sponsored me. Its not too late to donate if you missed out. Call SCC and I’m sure they’d be happy to accept your donation.

The organizers did a great job and we all had fun walking together through Somerville. Thanks AHOC!
